Project.12: Fire

Standard

Right now I’m in Minnesota with my kids visiting family for (yikes!) 5 weeks, and it has been really great so far, though not without moments of travel-weariness. But my husband joins us next week and then all will be well.

I had hoped to execute and post my Project.12 “Fire” submission before leaving home, but it didn’t happen. I knew I wanted to include fire trucks, so I tried calling the fire department in my hometown when I arrived in Minnesota, but they don’t keep regular office hours and I couldn’t reach anyone. Yesterday, though, I finally found my opportunity (a better one than I had hoped for): Kids’ Day at the County Fair, with fire trucks from three different towns. My kids were ecstatic and they loved exploring the fire equipment.

The weather was crazy yesterday — sunny, windy, rainy, cloudy, chilly — so I had some issues with exposure despite my best efforts to adjust to the changing light, but I managed to capture a few images and make some memories.
